Thanks to a partnership with the Quebec Youth Office (Lojiq), 14 young Afro-Quebecers from the regions received a scholarship to come to Quebec to participate in the Forum’s various activities.
In partnership with J’entreprends Québec, the launch evening took place on September 12th at Espace Grand Chien in the form of a 6@8 speed dating session. During this evening, we were fortunate to have five inspiring personalities (Benoit Songa, Executive Director of the Centre Rire 2000; Lysiane Randria of Atalia Conseil; Marie Fall, Charles Moumi, and Emmanuel Mbaï) with whom the young people, in groups of ten, were able to chat for about ten minutes. More than sixty people responded to our invitation.
Opportunity to launch and present the programming of the Forum, the cocktail is intended as a networking moment between young leaders from the city of Quebec, delegations from other cities in the province and inspiring personalities
Mix of conferences and workshops during which participants were able to exchange and make recommendations related to the social, economic (entrepreneurial and professional) and citizen integration of Afro-descendants in the province of Quebec.
In order to highlight and strengthen the commitment of young Afro-descendants from different delegations and those from Quebec City, we wish to introduce them to places (National Assembly, Quebec City) where decisions impacting daily life in Quebec are made. We also wish to make this activity an opportunity to meet some elected officials and decision-makers at both municipal and provincial levels.
The recognition and excellence gala for young Afro-Quebecers will be an opportunity to recognize the achievement of young Afro-descendants who have distinguished themselves in different fields such as leadership, entrepreneurship, the cultural field or even in terms of innovation.
