Organized during the month of black history, the Festival d’Arts Afro-Québécois (FAAQ) is a multidisciplinary showcase that celebrates the afrodescendant talents of Quebec through music, dance, visual arts and theater. In addition to being a professional springboard, the FAAQ acts as a bridge between cultures, promoting encounters, dialogue and recognition of multiple identities.
The 8th edition of the Afro-Québécois Arts Festival will be held from February 5 to April 30, 2026, under the theme: “Black Resonances: Voices and Visions.”
The choice of this theme echoes the struggles, historical trajectories, and living legacies of Black communities, as well as their contemporary expressions. It aims to honor the voices, celebrate the visions, and give voice to the stories, memories, and creations of Afro-descendant artists.
Through this theme, we pay tribute to the richness, plurality, and complexity of Black experiences. It also recognizes the multiple dimensions—cultural, political, linguistic, and artistic—that weave Black identities and resonate at the heart of Afro-descendant communities in Quebec, and particularly in Quebec City.
